Halo: Money & Budget Tracker
Privacy policy
Effective 7 November 2026. Halo is made by Anmol Sharma (“we”). This policy explains what the Halo Android app collects, why, and the choices you have. Short version: we collect only what is needed to run your account, we never sell it, and there are no ads or trackers.
What we collect
Account details: your email address and a password. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider; we can never see them.
Your name, as you enter it, to personalise the app.
Financial information you type in: your monthly income, budget, savings goal and spending guardrail, and the accounts, categories and transactions you record (amount, currency, merchant or source, date, note). Halo never connects to your bank, never reads SMS and never asks for card or bank numbers.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, device identifiers or advertising IDs, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
Where it is stored
Your data is saved on your phone so the app works offline. Your account details and plan, and (once cloud sync is turned on in an app update) your accounts, categories and transactions, are also stored in our database so you can sign in on another phone. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).
Why we use it
- To create and secure your account, and to send the sign-up and password-reset codes you ask for.
- To show your budget, safe-to-spend amount, savings progress and history.
We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase: hosts our database and sign-in (servers in Mumbai, India).
- Resend: delivers our sign-up and password-reset emails (it receives your email address only).
These providers process data only on our instructions. We may also disclose data if required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your account and all data linked to it are removed from our database immediately, and the data on your phone is erased. See how to delete your account.
Your choices and rights
- View and edit your data any time in the app.
- Delete your account in the app: Settings → Delete my account.
- Ask us for a copy of your data or for deletion by emailing support@halobudget.me from your account’s email address.
Children
Halo is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
